So a lot has happened while I've been here. First, I got a job. I had two weeks of training (all paid!) and I'm probably going to be starting on my own next week. It's only $8 the hour, but at least I'm going to have a regular source of spending money!
Second, I got accepted to a tutoring program run by Harvard. I'm really excited for this because I now have another way to meet students from other schools and of course because I get to spend time helping little kids with their homework! (I will admit, I am sorta kinda hoping to meet some cute Harvard boys...but who wouldn't? ;)
Third, Flower Sunday!! I got matched with a really nice Big Sister. She left me a note the night before and the next morning she brought me purple flowers and we had breakfast together before going to the chapel for the Flower Sunday Ceremony.
Lastly, after two weeks of classes I feel like I am finally getting the rhythm of things. Before I was never good at asking for help, but now I see that it is necessary to do well here so I'm working on getting better at asking questions. I haven't been procrastinating too much, I'm going to try to keep it up for the rest of the semester (we'll see how it goes...).
Before coming to Wellesley I had heard of what students call "That Girl". Which basically refers to the girl who tries to answer every question the professor asks, has read the entire textbook already, and does all of the homework a week ahead of time and does twice what was assigned. I was a bit apprehensive at first of the possibility of having "That Girl" in my classes. Luckily, I'm pretty sure "That Girl" isn't in any of my classes (although there is a girl in my Spanish class who is pretty close...we'll see how that turns out).
Overall, I'd say these first few weeks have been great. I'm going to try to really enjoy myself this weekend. I still have some homework I need to do by Monday, but I'm going to make it a priority to enjoy myself, I mean I only get to be a college student once right?
